ORCHESTRAS AND INSTRUMENTS   (concluded)

In session one we were listening to variations from Benjamin Britten’s educational variations on a theme by Purcell, “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra” (1948), demonstrating the role of each family of instruments in  thirteen variations, played by the English Symphony Orchestra.

This week we conclude with variations 7-13 and the closing fugue.
